SCS Newsletter 01/03/2024

Dear Families,

We hope this finds you well. Classes across each pathway are preparing for the World Book Day which takes place on Thursday 7th March 2024. We are planning a range of sensory literacy, reading, and storytelling activities across the week, which include:

•   Classes will join an interactive online session: 'Fairy stories with Michael Rosen, Jasbinder Bilan and Allen Fatimaharan'
•   We have the Umbrella Theatre Company in school for a sensory performance of the Wind in the
Willows!
•   Peer reading with pupils from the Upper School reading to classes in the Lower school
•   Fun literacy and reading lessons in the school library.
•   Inviting families to share reading experiences at home through Evidence for Learning so that your
child can share this with their class.
•   Interactive Gruffalo story with live music and art activities linked to stories.

We invite all pupils to dress up as their favourite character for the activities planned on Thursday, 7th March. More information and fun resources are available here: https://www.worldbookday.com/
