Dear Families,

We have had a busy week, culminating in a celebration of the International Day of Play this Thursday, with a range of enticing activities facilitated by class teams and our NHS colleagues.

Thank you to the families who joined their child in class this week for our termly Family Learning sessions. We have lots of upcoming events for parents, carers, and extended family.

On  Wednesday 1st July, we are hosting our annual International Day - a day to celebrate the diversity and cultural heritage across our community. Pupils will enjoy a carousel of activities through the morning (each hallway will be decorated as a different continent), and are invited to dress in whatever way is meaningful to them (traditional costumes are especially welcome).

Families are invited to bring food to share with staff (you can bring food any time in the morning), with the lunch sitting from 12-1pm (arrive at 12 or earlier to help set out the food in the staff room).

Then from 1.30pm until 2.50pm, families and pupils will enjoy activities and performances in the playground. You are all invited!

We are so excited for our children to participate in a sponsored Bubble Walk during their upcoming local community trip, with all funds raised going directly toward wonderful new playground equipment! Please check your child's school bag this afternoon for their sponsorship form, which we kindly ask you to return with any donations by Friday 10th July. We will share the exact date, time, and route map very soon, and we would absolutely love for you to join us on the day to cheer the children on

Our upcoming coffee mornings for the remainder of the year focus on Relationships and Sex Education, facilitated by our Wellbeing Team and CAMHs practitioners. Please come to all or any of the sessions on Tuesdays at 10am.

  • Tuesday 16th June: Upper School Focus – Led by Morgane (Assistant Principal), Akosua (PBS Lead), and Dr Susan Cottam.
  • Tuesday 23rd June: Dads' Group – Led by Morgane, Akosua, and Paul Crone Well being Lead
  • Tuesday 7th July: Lower School Focus – Led by Morgane, Akosua, and Dr Susan Cottam.
  • Tuesday 14th July: Mums' Group – Led by Morgane, Akosua, and Dr Susan Cottam.

Finally, a reminder that on Monday 22nd, there is no school for pupils (it’s the final INSET day for staff training). The following Saturday 11th July, please do bring your children and families to our Community Day from 11am - 2pm.

Thank you for those families supporting the preparation and those who have contributed raffle prizes, high quality clothing and toys to sell on the day. Do keep the donations coming - you can bring them to the office at any time, or be in touch via fundraising@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk with any queries or ideas.

Have a lovely weekend,

Syra Sowe
