Dear Parents and Carers,

This week we have enjoyed hosting parents, carers, uncles, aunties and grandparents for Family Learning Week. Children and staff were proud to welcome families into their classrooms and feedback was positive (for those that were not able to join us, there will be another invitation in the summer term).

Family Learning Sessions Next Week:

Thank you to those visiting families who completed the parent survey. Your views help us to understand what we are doing well and what we need to get better at. To that end, if you did not complete a paper survey, please complete the online survey by following this link. It should only take a couple of minutes and you can also use the form to ask a senior team member to get in touch if you would like to discuss anything further.

We are delighted to share that some of our pupils’ art work has been shortlisted in the Art Bytes competition. Please visit https://artbytes.co.uk/schools/swiss-cottage-school-640/ and scroll down to vote for your favourites and enjoy the fabulous array of creativity from all the participating schools.

On Thursday, the whole school celebrated World Book Day and had great fun. Some of the children and staff dressed up as characters from their favourite books, hallways were decorated as magical story scenes, and the drama studio turned into an interactive library where pupils enjoyed exploring a range of books and multi-sensory props.

Finally, you should have received a letter from Governors earlier this week confirming the outcome of the recruitment for the Principal post. It is the greatest honour and privilege to be given the opportunity to continue leading our school, and I am looking forward to working with you all to get the best outcomes for your children.

Have a lovely weekend,

Syra Sowe
Principal (Interim)
