Dear Families,

It has been wonderful to see so many families attending our second week of Parent/Carer meetings and to have the opportunity to discuss your child’s holistic development and prepare to work in partnership across the year.

We are looking forward to some key upcoming dates for families listed below:

AUTHORISED ABSENCE: Please let us know if your child is unwell or if they have a scheduled appointment so that we can inform the class and authorise the absence. A few families have requested leave for their child to be collected early each day or to go abroad. Please note that we are not able to authorise these absences unless there are exceptional reasons and this is monitored by the LA. If you do have an exceptional reason, please explain this with as much notice as possible (email admin@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk) and we will get back to you with next steps.

SCHOOL MEALS: If your child brings snacks in to school, please remember NO NUTS or KIWI, since we have pupils with severe allergies.

Whilst Primary aged children do not pay for school meals, many families are entitled to Free School Meals status. By registering, you help the school to get extra government funding called the pupil premium which is then used to support the children.

You may be eligible if you receive one or more of the following benefits:
•    Universal Credit (and have a net earned income of no more than £7,400 per year)
•    Income Support
•    Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
•    Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
•    Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
•    The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
•    Child Tax Credit (and not receiving Working Tax Credit, with an annual gross income no more than £16,190)

Please email finance@swisscottage.camden.sch.uk if you think you may be eligible.

Yours Sincerely,
Syra Sowe
Principal (Interim)
