Dear Families,

Eid Mubarak to those that are celebrating, and happy Friday to everyone.

This week, the school welcomed visitors from the Department for Education, Youth Sports Trust and GB Paralympics. They came to celebrate our status as a Youth Sports Trust Lead Inclusion school and observed a PE session. Pupils and staff were wonderful as always and Minister Gould joined in with the ball games.

We have also had a Quality Assurance Review from an organisation called Challenge Partners, a three day peer-led rigorous review of practice and provision across the school, led by an external inspector and two special school leaders from across the country. The school did exceptionally well, as we expected.

Meanwhile, the pupils have enjoyed the warm weather this week, with lots of outdoor activities and trips and visits. Next week, we are looking forward to an Eid celebration and an Easter Bonnet parade. Tuesday’s coffee morning entails a visit from the Short Breaks team in Camden – come along to ask questions, learn about the service, or simply have tea/coffee and company.

Finally, some of you may remember Peter Sprinz, who was our Chair of Governors for over 20 years until 2022. He helped to grow Swiss into the school that it is today and steered us through many challenges over the years. Peter sadly passed away this week, and we want to take the opportunity to acknowledge his extraordinary legacy at Swiss, for which we will forever be grateful.

Have a lovely weekend,

Syra Sowe
Principal
